Texas LPC Associate Supervisor (LPC-S)
Clinical supervision for LPC Associates, online statewide or in Tomball.
Looking for an LPC-S in Texas?
I'm Christi Kersten, MA, a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor and LPC-Supervisor (LPC-S). I provide clinical supervision for LPC Associates who are completing supervised hours toward licensure, either online anywhere in Texas or in person in Tomball.
Finding the right LPC Associate supervisor shapes more than your hours. Your supervisor is the person you think out loud with about difficult cases, ethical questions, and the kind of clinician you are becoming. I take a limited number of associates and screen for fit, so we both know it is a good match before we begin.
Who I supervise
I work with associates in a range of settings:
- Associates employed at an agency, hospital, or community mental health center
- Associates working in a group practice
- Associates building a self-employed private practice
Each of these is a legitimate path to licensure. Supervision is shaped around your setting, your caseload, and your goals.
Private practice as an associate
Texas allows associates to work in private practice while completing supervised experience. Associates always practice under supervision, but this path lets you start building equity in a practice of your own instead of someone else's.
If you choose it, we can work on the practical side alongside the clinical: intake paperwork and informed consent, documentation, EHR and telehealth systems, insurance and private pay, and a professional online presence.
What clinical supervision covers
- Case conceptualization and treatment planning
- Ethical decision-making and professional boundaries
- Clinical documentation that holds up to review
- Knowing when and how to seek consultation
- Building your clinical judgment and professional voice
- Using technology and AI ethically in practice
My aim is not to have you practice exactly as I do, but to help you think clearly and make sound decisions on your own.
Supervised hours toward licensure
Texas sets its own requirements for supervised experience, direct client contact, and supervision time. Your supervision plan is built around those requirements, and we keep track of your hours together so there are no surprises when you apply for full licensure.
Online or in Tomball
Online supervision by secure video is available to associates anywhere in Texas, which makes it easier to fit supervision around a full caseload. If you prefer to meet in person, sessions are also available in Tomball.
